Most public transport routes are going to undergo schedule changes from July 1

As communicated by "Rīgas satiksme", changes will be applied to the schedules of specific public transport routes going to active leisure areas and gardens within the territory of Riga, in order to respond to the changing passenger flows and service the increased passenger demand for public transport: on weekdays from the 1st of July, and at weekends from the 4th of July. Thus, the total number of public transport runs is going to increase by 172 on weekdays and by 133 at weekends. Express buses are also going to run again from June 29.

Buses

Changes in the following route schedules will apply on weekdays from the 1st of July, and at weekends from the 4th of July:

Trams

Changes in the following route schedules will apply on weekdays from the 1st of July, and at weekends from the 4th of July:

  • in the schedule of tram route No. 2. on weekdays;
  • in the schedules of tram routes No. 1., 5., 7. and 10. on weekdays;
  • and tram routes No. 1., 5., 7. and 10. at weekends.

Changes will also apply to the tram route No. 11 (on weekdays and weekends) if the traffic of public transport over the Brasas crossover is going to be resumed.

Trolleybuses

Changes in the following route schedules will apply on weekdays from the 1st of July, and at weekends from the 4th of July:

The following routes are intended to remain closed while the passenger traffic is relatively low:

  • bus routes No. 4z and 35, tram route No. 9 on weekdays;
  • bus route No. 59 on weekdays and at weekends;
  • bus route No. 57, trolleybus route No. 13 at weekends; 

Commuters regularly using the specified routes can use other routes currently serviced by "Rīgas satiksme" as an alternative means to reach their destinations. From July 1, the total number of public transport runs is going to increase by 172 on weekdays and by 133 at weekends.

Express bus No. 300 is going to resume running on weekdays and at weekends from June 29. All other express bus routes will only run on weekdays from June 29.
